Here’s how I did it with my former side business Dealify, while balancing a fulltime leadership role as a CMO, and how you can do it too!

Step 1: Finding the right idea (with the help of AI)

This is probably one of the hardest things to do. Luckily there are tools that can help you find and validate the best ideas.

Tools like Nicheprowler are a reservoir for micro SaaS idea inspiration, making it a spot for innovation and originality.

Step 2: Niche Down to Scale Up

Pick a super-specific niche to attract the right audience. For Dealify, I focused on "Tech Deals for Growth Hackers."

Step 3: Build with No-Code Tools

Not a developer? No problem. Use tools like WooCommerce, Bubble.io or Softr.io to create a flexible and scalable platform.

Step 4: Automate with AI

• AI tools saved me tons of time:

  • Jasper.ai: Created high-quality product pages and ad copy.

  • Surfer SEO: Optimized content for search engines.

Step 5: Smart Advertising

• Tested different hooks on Facebook Ads. Some campaigns generated over 50K in profitable revenue.

• Adcreative.ai: Scaled ad creation without breaking a sweat.

Step 6: Leverage Affiliate Marketing

• Offering 20% per sale to affiliates rapidly expanded our reach.

Step 7: Engage with Email Marketing

• Tools like beehiiv kept our audience engaged with regular updates and offers.

Step 8: Stellar Customer Service & Showcase Happy Customers

• Quite a crucial, but underrated aspect. Caring for your customers, offering good support.

• Display customer reviews prominently to build trust and reduce purchase hesitation.

Step 9: Do Something Different

• I for example created a Chrome Extension featuring deals from both Dealify and competitors to attract their customers.

Step 10: Consistency is Key

• Launched new deals every Tuesday, establishing a predictable pattern for our audience.

Balancing Act: Managing both Dealify and a CMO role was overwhelming, leading to me being pretty burnt out. That’s why I decided to sell Dealify. Selling Dealify through Acquire.com was a huge relief and a significant win, allowing me to recharge.

Post-Sale: I traveled the world, gaining new perspectives and gearing up for my next venture.
